I’m back in Yellowstone National Park for the entire summer—what a treat! It’s great to be here. I’ve already driven around the entire park and Beartooth Highway. There’s still snow in the higher elevations, making the mountains picture-perfect.
It was 82 degrees in Lamar Valley on Sunday afternoon, but only 44 degrees in the Beartooth Mountains—so I know where to go to cool down when it gets too hot.
As for wildlife, I’ve seen bison, pronghorn, elk, deer, swans, hawks, sandhill cranes, bears, and a fox. Last year, I was lucky to see a gray wolf cross the road early one morning, and I hope to see more wolves this year.
The weather can be extreme at times. I don’t mind a little rain—especially if it comes with rainbows. But on Sunday night, we had a severe thunderstorm with hail. Luckily, my car survived.
I need a new Canon DSLR, as the other one went bye-bye. For now, I’ll have to rely on my phone.
